Golden State Warriors Defeat Cavs in 2017 NBA Finals

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA— The Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers last night, winning the 2017 NBA championship title on their home court after an exciting five-game series.

Just when the world started to think that the Warriors might blow a 3-1 lead yet again, KD and Steph Curry stepped up and took the title.

Curry scored 34 points while Durant closed the deal with 39 points in the 129-120 victory over the Cavs.

This is Golden State’s second championship win in the last two years but the first for Kevin Durant who received a lot of heat for leaving OKC and joining the super team last summer.

Durant also unanimously won the 2017 MVP award, averaging 35.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists in the Finals.

“I knew at some point in my life it would come together for me,” Durant said. “I just had to keep grinding… I’m at a loss for words.”

Back in 2012 Durant lost to LeBron in the Finals, giving LBJ his first ever NBA title.

This loss to the Warriors marks LeBron’s eighth trip to the NBA Finals and his 5th time losing the Championship.

The King still has 3 rings and he doesn’t regret his 2017 performance.

“For me personally, I left everything on the floor every game,” James said. “So for me personally I’ve no reason to put my head down.”

LeBron out-performed everyone on that court with 41 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists.

Despite LeBron’s performance, the Cavs weren’t able to secure the lead at any point during the second half of the game.
